Powder Vase by Jenny Nordberg - Hem

Hem is introducing Powder Vase, the latest object from a limited edition decorative accessory collection, produced in collaboration with Modern Design Review.
These bold sculptural vases are made by hand from sheet metal by Jenny Nordberg, a designer who typically brings heavy industrial processes into her workshop where she subverts them and makes them her own. With Powder Vase Nordberg has cut, welded and powder-coated each piece. Although the process of powder-coating is most commonly used to achieve a uniform finish, here Nordberg has reinvented it as a means of expression and decoration. The limited edition decorative accessory collection promotes strong independent creative voices and studio-based production, in line with Hem's ethos of making unique products with lasting value.

All Powder Vases will include a borosilicate glass insert to hold water and to keep your flowers in place.

Please note that no offers or discounts apply to this limited edition item.

Jenny Nordberg

Jenny Nordberg is an interdisciplinary industrial designer based in the south of Sweden. Her practice is driven by the search for alternatives and a counter strategy to irresponsible mass production. Exploratory ideas around the notion of design and how we produce and consume are often at the heart of her work, whether it be experimental, conceptual or a commercial commission. Nordberg seeks to transform the preconditions of design and encourage it to take a more engaged position. Navigating between art and design, stylistically Nordberg’s work is characterised by a combination of brutalism and minimalism, often leaning on chance as an important element. The research and design studio mainly works with studio production, small series, limited editions and site or context specific commissions.
